Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

CalcSnap (calcsnap.app) is a personal website run by Deep Sonic Echo (pen name), a private individual based in Finland. For anything about privacy, contact me at contact@deepsonicecho.com.

2. The short version

Every calculator and game on this site runs entirely in your web browser. The numbers and text you type are never sent to me or stored on any server, because this site has no server-side code and no database. When you close the page, your inputs are gone. The only third party that may process data about your visit is Google, which serves the advertising, and Cloudflare, which hosts the site.

3. Data stored on your own device

The word scramble game saves your best score in your browser's local storage so you can try to beat it next time. It stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and you can delete it by clearing your browser's site data. CalcSnap itself sets no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies. Your language is chosen by the page address (/fi/, /sv/), not by a cookie.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

CalcSnap is funded by ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure their performance, and, if you allow it, to show ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites.

• Visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link that the consent message adds to the page.
• You can turn off personalised ads from Google in Google's Ad Settings, and from many other ad networks at youronlinechoices.eu.
• How Google uses data from sites like this one: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

The legal basis for advertising cookies is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). If you decline, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping and fraud prevention, as allowed by your choices.

5. Hosting and security logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks. I do not use this data to identify visitors. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

6. Analytics

CalcSnap does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service that tracks individual visitors. If I ever add analytics, this policy will be updated first, and any analytics cookies will require your consent.

7. Email

If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply and to fix the problem you report, keep it only as long as needed, and never share it or add you to a mailing list.

8. Children

CalcSnap is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Parents or guardians who have concerns can contact me at contact@deepsonicecho.com.

9. Your rights

The EU's data protection law (GDPR) gives everyone the right to ask a website what personal data it holds about them, and to have that data corrected or deleted. Every privacy policy must explain this, which is why this section is here.

In practice, CalcSnap holds no personal data about its visitors: there are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no analytics. The only personal data I could have is an email you have sent me. If you ask, I will tell you whether I have one and delete it if you wish. Data used for advertising is held by Google, not by me. You can view and manage it in Google's Ad Settings or through the consent message on this site.

If you believe your data has been handled wrongly, you can contact the Finnish data protection authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

10. Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as official statistics sources and deepsonicecho.com. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

11. Changes

If I change how data is handled, I will update this page and the date at the top.
